ProcessChem Documentation
About
ProcessChem is a chemical process engineering calculator. This is its documentation. The icon beside each tab heading, and beside the Thermo mode and Case dropdowns, opens the matching page here in your browser; the ⓘ beside a value in the app opens a short note on where that value came from.
Every page follows the same shape: About first, then the inputs, what comes back, and the physics behind it.
Tabs
- Property — look up one chemical or mixture's properties at a temperature and pressure
- Thermo — four ways of asking what happens to a substance
- Case — real-world scenarios, each with its own inputs
- Units — per-quantity unit choice and the Normal-flow reference
Keeping your work
- Saving and opening — what Open and Save keep, and how to save a case to a file that survives deleting the app
Thermo modes
- Phase Equilibrium — one chemical changing state
- Chemical Equilibrium — a feed left to find its own minimum
- Reaction — a reaction you already know
- Electrochemical Reaction — a reaction driven by electricity, or driving it
Cases
- Heater — heats or cools a batch or stream at constant pressure
- Vessel Heater — a sealed rigid vessel heated or cooled
- Fluidized Bed — sizes a fluidized bed
- Heat Exchanger — two streams exchanging heat
