Privacy Policy — ProcessChem
Last updated: 13 October 2026 (the app policy is unchanged since 8 August 2026; a section about this website was added)
Summary
ProcessChem does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
What the app does
ProcessChem is an offline engineering calculator. Every thermodynamic and chemical calculation runs entirely on your device, against reference data bundled inside the app itself. The app has no server, no account system, and no analytics.
Data we collect
None. Specifically:
- No personal or identifying information is collected.
- No usage data, analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting is collected.
- No advertising identifiers are collected, and no advertising is shown.
- No location, camera, photo, contact, or microphone data is accessed.
Data stored on your device
The app saves your own inputs and unit preferences locally so that your settings persist between sessions. This stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is removed when you uninstall the app.
You can also choose to save a case to a file, in a location you pick (for example in your phone's Files app or a cloud drive). The app writes that file only when you ask it to, does not send it anywhere, and does not remove it when you uninstall the app. What happens to the file afterwards is up to the location you chose.
Network access
ProcessChem does not require an internet connection and does not contact any server during normal use.
Permissions
Some bundled third-party libraries statically reference camera, photo library, and location APIs, which obliges the app store listing to declare a purpose string for each. ProcessChem never calls these APIs and never requests these permissions. The declared purpose strings say exactly this.
This website (processchem.no)
The website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, shows no advertising, and loads its fonts and images from its own pages, not from other companies' servers. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may keep ordinary server logs of visits, such as your IP address, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. If you email the address below, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
Children's privacy
The app collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
